Sushil Kumar wins silver medal in freestyle men’s wrestling

Olympics News: Sushil Kumar is the first Indian to won medals back-to-back at Olympics. But he still has to wait for a gold medal. This year in London Olympics, Sushil Kumar won a silver medal after losing in final competition of men’s freestyle wrestling. His opponent was a Japanese athelete, Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu.

 

In last Olympics in Beijing 2008, India won 1 gold and 2 bronze medals. This year, the count of medals surely went up but there wasn’t any gold medal for us. There is a chance that in next year’s Olympics, there will be more medals and more than 1 gold medal for India.

 

Sources from Olympics say that Sushil Kumar was not in good health condition when he the field for final match. This might have affected his performance in the wrestling. He confirmed to the media that his dehydration and body weakness was the main cause for his loss but he’s sure to win a gold medal in the next year.
