Colleges banned from participating in EAMCET counseling

The AICTE board banned close to 40 colleges in Hyderabad from this year’s admission process. Also from participating in the counseling of engineering seats this year. This decision was made after certain deficiencies were discovered from these colleges in an inspection program. These 40 colleges are part of the 120 colleges list among which a number of colleges were permitted limited admission into their colleges.

The colleges failed to fulfill the basic norms set by the council. Every year the AICTE board conducts such sudden inspections to find out about such colleges. And thankfully the colleges come to light. Else many students would be in grave trouble. Close to 120 colleges were blacklisted of which 40 were banned, 60 colleges were permitted to participate in counseling under certain agreeable conditions. Certain colleges were allowed to admit limited students than the actual limit of admission.

The colleges who got barred from admissions filed a petition against the council’s sudden inspection program. They claimed that other colleges are let loose and only few colleges are being targeted. But some reasons to ban them from admissions are the poor infrastructure facilities and lack of proper staff.
