Vexation Demands causing trouble to RTI act: Manmohan Singh
   

Prime Minister Manmohan singh expressed his opinion on the way the RTI act is running in India. He said beside unearthing big scams RTI also has several draw backs which we need to concentrate as soon as possible to save from the vexed usage.


 While addressing the 6th annual convention of information commission of information commissioners in Delhi on Friday he said that we need to relook in to the act as it is being used for vexed purpose which is delaying the functions of the government and officials also facing unwanted trouble.


He called for critical look of the RTI act. However he said that the government is not planning to dilute the RTI act but said strongly said that there is need for amendments in this act.


His statement drew firm reactions from the civil society.  Aruna roy, who was the instrumental in bringing RTI act said government wants to dilute the RTI act and we strongly oppose any move to change the RTI act.
