Hyderabad News: The private medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh have totally lost the sense of reality. Everyday there is a new debate and a new appeal to the state government regarding the fee structure. The medical colleges seemed to have refrained from their demands of price hike in management seats for the time being. But they definitely are playing a double game now.
Freshly the colleges want to have a uniform fee structure for merit and management seats. If this is accepted by the state government, the price of merit seat in MBBS will shoot to 7 lakh or even more than that. The time now is changing its tale; from the days when merit seats were “free of cost” to speak in liberal terms to now, when the seats will cost you more that 7 Lakh. Even if you are a merit student, you won’t be spared.
The colleges say that, if the transparency in admissions is what the government wants, we want a separate entrance test for our colleges. This will make them decide the price of merit seats and management seats as per the wish of individual college managements. The reason stated by the colleges is that the fees structure decided by the government won’t be sufficient to run a big college. Very soon a meeting will be held between the private colleges’ representative and government officials regarding this matter.
