   Janmashthami celebrations in Hyderabad

Hyderabad News: The city is all geared up for Janmasthami celebrations. Though the date of the festival is mentioned as 10th night of August 2012, some claimed that it is on the night of 9th and even celebrated it yesterday night. Devotees celebrated Janmasthami by observing fast and offering their worships to Lord Krishna.

 

The Krishna temples across Hyderabad were thronged by devotees and celebrated the festival with great pomp. The temples organized various Bhajan sessions and various special Pujas to Lord Krishna yesterday. They will continue today as well. Some famous organizations celebrating this festival are Bharat Sevashram Sangha, ISKCON and Ramakrishna Math across Hyderabad.

 

Varieties of food specials like Chappan Bhog and variety of sweets. Bhagavad Gita recital was conducted by the devotees and temple priests. Bharat Sevashram Sangha distributed free notebooks and clothes among the poor children. Rama Krishna Math also conducted a similar kind of Charity program. Both North Indians and South Indians together participated in these events and made them a success.
