India-Pakistan match! For the better or for the worse?
payoffers.in

Ever since the news of Indo-Pak match got confirmed, it has grabbed quite an attention from both the nations’ public. As we all know the 2008 Mumbai attack is still an unresolved problem, some feel that this match shouldn’t happen and if it does, conditions may not be normal here. While some appreciate the initiative taken by both countries’ cricket boards to reduce the friction between the two; at least as far as cricket is concerned.

The players of both the teams Shahid Afridi, captain of Pakistan team Misbah-ul-haq and captain of Indian team MS Dhoni have reacted positively about the match. The match will be played in India where 3 ODIs and 2 T20 matches will be held in this series. Afridi states this match will be “bigger than Ashes series between Australia-England and thrilling”; Dhoni says” We are professional players. There is no room for sentiment in the game and we are looking forward to it”.

This will be first bilateral series between India and Pak after 2007 match. It is good to see the sportsmanship spirit among the two teams. But it may raise a new issue politically. Cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar want the cricket boards to rethink over their decision. The last played match against Pakistan was semi-finals in Mohali in 2011. Whatsoever the outcome may be, we all know how exciting the India Pak matches are. Let us see what the future unfolds.
