Mansur Alikhan Patuadi is passed away
   

Mansur Alikhan  Patuadi Famously known as a Tiger Pataudi in Indian cricket during the era of 1969-1975, who was a contemporary to Javed Burki (pakistan) had been battling lung infection from past few days, died yesterday evening 5:55pm.


The 70 year old cricketer was suffering from interstitial lung disease, a condition in which the passage of oxygen to the two lungs is less than normal. He died at last in spite of all best efforts in sir Ganga ram hospital, New Delhi.


He served as the youngest captain for India at the age of 21, in his fourth test match in Barbados in 1962.he led India in 40 tests. He scored 2793 runs in 46 test matches. he also scored double century(203) against England  in Delhi 1964.  


 He brought us first overseas test victory against Newzeland in 1968.He retired in 1975 and then he served as match referee (1993-1996). And he was the member of first IPL governing council.


Patuadi’s father, Iftikar Alikhan pataudi was the first cricketer who represented both India and England in tests.


His wife Sharmila, son Saif Ali Khan (Actor),Daughters Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan were present at the last moment.
