TRS to leave all seats to Cong, if T-bill is moved
Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao has declared that the party will leave not only all the 10 assembly seats, but also the two MP seats to the Congress, if the UPA government introduces a Bill in Parliament straightaway for the formation of Telangana state. KCR was reacting to the challenge thrown by Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar whether the TRS would give up the Assembly seats if the Congress declares Telangana. “If Prabhakar gives us an assurance that the Centre would move the Telangana Bill straightaway without waiting for Srikrishna Committee report, we will sacrifice all our seats and ensure the victory of Congress candidates in their places. We are not interested in posts and positions, but Telangana,” he said. The TRS president threatened to launch fast unto death again, if there was no positive report from Srikrishna Committee. Otherwise, he would take up a different mode of agitation. “We will go ahead with our agitation till we realise our goal,” he said.
