Home Minister Chidambaram directed Gujarat police to provide enough security to IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt.

The response came after Mr. Bhatt’s wife, Shweta Bhatt, wrote a letter to Union Home Minister P. Chidembaram, expressing the fear that “there was a threat to her husband’s (Sanjiv Bhatt) life.”

Sanjiv bhatt has been arrested since September 30 after an FIR was filled against him by his Constable K.D. Pant, alleged that Bhatt was forced me to sign on a false affidavit on the content of meeting called by Chief Minister Modi on February 27, 2002 after the Godhra train carnage.
