India and Afghanistan sign Strategic Partnership Agreement
   

Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and his Afghan Counter part signed first ever Strategic Partnership Agreement during third executive meeting at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Tuesday.


Strategic Partnership Agreement with Afghanistan helpful in trade and economic cooperation in wider range. India is going to assist Afghanistan in developing Trading routes to exploring for hydrocarbons and also heavy mineral ores the country is blessed with.


Two MOUs (Memorandum of Understand) have been signed which are going to helpful in trading and economic prosperous.


1.       MOU in Mineral exploration in through which India can access afghan’s largest reserve of Iron ore located at Hajigak.

2.       MOU in Development of Hydrocarbons


 While addressing the media Dr. Manmohan Singh said “the agreement on a Strategic Partnership creates an institutional framework for our future cooperation in the fields of political and security trade and economic cooperation, capacity building, and education, social, cultural, civil society and people-to-people relations.”
