Congress leaders from Telangana have started turning restive over the party's line favouring constitution of a States Reorganisation Commission (SRC) and have threatened to quit the party as well as their elected posts if such a development takes place.
Congress leaders are threatening to float their own party and tie-up with the TRS in the 2014 polls if the Congress high command delays the creation of Telangana by constituting a second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC)
While many tried to take solace on the plea that the SRC was primarily aimed at countering Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's plan to divide the State into four parts, others expressed the fear that Centre might announce a special package or constitute a development council for Telangana.
Party sources said panchayat raj minister K Jana Reddy, MPs K Keshava Rao, G Sukhender Reddy, K Rajagopal Reddy, S Rajaiah, Balaram Naik and P Prabhakar are said to be in favour of floating a new party in the region.
