BOTANICAL GARDENS

The Botanical Garden is aimed at providing the facility of a Modern Botanical Garden to conserve and develop the germ plasm and to educate the people. The garden spread over 120 acres (0.49 km2) of undulating land and when completed will have 19 sectors or 'Vanams'. Already open to public is the first phase, with the completion of 5 sections. The sections include medicinal plants, timber trees, fruit trees, ornamental plants, aquatic plants, bamboos and so on. The Park has been designed to have large water bodies, rolling meadows, natural forests, rich grasslands and exquisite rock formations. An eco-tourist place, the botanical garden is in Madhapur, near the Hi-tech City, approximately 16 kilometers from Hyderabad. The garden sprawls over 120 acres of vegetation. On completion, the garden will possess 19 Vanams, or sectors. The first phase is already completed and opens to public, with 5 sectors, which include medicinal plants, fruit and timber trees, ornamental plants, bamboos, palm trees and aquatic plants. The design of the park includes Rolling Meadows, water bodies, and lush green grass lands. For people who would like to retire shortly from the city life, the garden is an excellent choice. Tents are available if you plan to stay. Bamboo and palm sectors are a major attraction in the park. Other major attraction of this garden is the Bamboo sector and palm sector, with different varieties of bamboo trees separated by a 3-m distance. Special signboards are erected at each bamboo variety indicating its generic and scientific names. Another sector is the Palm sector with its diverse species. Here you can find a variety of flowers in abundance, as Cosmos, both in yellow and purple, blue Salvia, red Raselia, etc.open for the public at Kothaguda, Entry fees Adult Rs.10/- & Child Rs. 5/-.
