Kiran Kumar - Botsa showdown Reach Climax
AICC General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad, AICC leaders, ACB, Liquor scandal, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana has reached the corridors of Delhi and the two sides are readying for a showdown in the presence of AICC leaders.
Botcha flew into the capital, to complain against the Chief Minister, on knowing that Kiran was trying to clip his wings by implicating him in the liquor scam.
It is learnt that ACB Special Investigation Team (SIT) chief Srinivasa Reddy has showered obscenities on CI Ganesh, for not implicating Botcha and his relatives in the case pertaining auctioning of liquor shops in Vizianagaram. Angered by this, Ganesh filed a case against his superior.
On knowing about this, Botcha has felt that the Chief Minister was trying to implicate him in the liquor scam and rushed to Delhi. Soon after reaching the capital, he has met the AICC General Secretary and state party affairs in charge Ghulam Nabi Azad and complained to him about the style of functioning of Kiran. Botcha has reportedly shown Azad, a copy of the legal notice served by Ganesh to his superior, as evidence. It is learnt that Azad has asked Botcha to be patient till by-elections to 18 Assembly seats were over.
Botcha has reportedly called Kiran from New Delhi and chastised him in very strong terms. “What do you think of yourself? I will finalize this matter with the High Command” Botcha is reported to have threatened the CM.
The Chief Minister on his part has reportedly said that he was unaware of these developments and had pleaded that he never asked the ACB to file cases against any one.
Many Congress leaders are now worried about the party's image and want the high command to pull up the Chief Minister as well as the PCC president. A former Minister, who refused to be identified echoed the party leaders' feelings when he said: “How can the Chief Minister say that he is not linked to the ACB raids? His bid to fix some senior Congress leaders has boomeranged. Similarly, the PCC chief has to be blamed for his family members owning liquor outlets, a fact he has openly admitted”.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Raj Narasimha has also been asked to be present in Delhi on Wednesday. He was closeted with Mr. Satyanarayana for over an hour on Tuesday.
