Court hears arguments on Vijayasai's bail plea today
Andhra Pradesh, Political parties, YSR Congress, Jaganmohan Reddy, Vijay Sai, CBI, Assets Case

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh High Court will on Friday deliver its verdict after concluding the hearing on CBI's application seeking cancellation of bail of Vijay Sai Reddy, an accused in the disproportionate assets case against Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Justice KC Bhanu is expected to deliver the verdict.

Senior advocate Sushil Kumar, representing Vijay Sai, yesterday argued that CBI was not proceeding against all the accused, but was being selective.

The chargesheet against Vijay Sai and others did not disclose any grounds for curtailing his client's freedom, advocate Kumar said.

"The trial court had applied the law of the land...Though the CBI somehow had taken a very prejudicial view about Vijay Sai (on bail plea) and has been acting only to confine him in jail," Kumar said.

CBI lawyer Keshava Rao said that Vijay Sai was 'a past master' of manipulating tactics, and the trial court had erred in granting him bail, which deserved to be revoked.

Vijay Sai, a financial advisor of Jagan's companies and family auditor of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, was the first person to be arrested in the case in January this year. Special court for CBI cases here gave him bail on April 13.

CBI filed chargesheet against Jagan and 12 others including Vijay Sai on March 31. Jagan is accused of getting investments of crores of rupees from several firms, as a quid-pro-quo for concessions from the state government when his father was the Chief Minister.
