Himayat Sagar:

The Himayat Sagar is an artificial lake or can be called as reservoir built by government of Andhra Pradesh for the purpose of providing drinking water to the people of the city. It is constructed on the river Musi and also with a purpose of saving the city from floods. Himayat Sagar is constructed adjacent to another lake Osman sagar and has storage capacity of nearly 3 TMC.
Himayat Sagar is named after the last ruler of Nizams, Himayat Ali Khan. The construction engineer of the Lake or Sagar is Late Mr. Khana Mohinuddin.  The water in the lake is now unfit for use owing to the pollution and wastage it accumulated in recent past. Main reason being the increasing human population around the areas of the lake. The scenery around the lake with full of greenery is a regular picnic spot for the people of Hyderabad.
