Shamirpet Lake:

Shamirpet Lake is an artificial lake in the outskirts of Hyderabad-Secunderabad twin cities. It is 24 km away from Secunderabad Railway Station, 25 km away from Hyderabad Begumpet Airport area and very near to outer ring road. The lake is the tourist attraction for the place Shamirpet. It is also called as Pedda Cheruvu and is a famous picnic spot for the deer park nearby. Transportation towards Shamirpet Lake is done through inter district buses and also local buses that start from Secunderabad Station like 211, 211A, 211S so on. And also the buses which run from Jubliee Bus Stand to Karimnagar, Siddipet and other districts pass through Shamirpet Lake and drop us there.

We start from Secunderabad-Patny crossroads and drive along the cantonment region in Alwal region of Secunderabad. It is a pleasant journey through personal vehicles. There are Lord Venkateshwara Temple, Katti Maisamma Temple, Ratnalayam Temple and Warangal Saraswathi Temple near the lake which attracts people from all over the state and the city during weekends. There are some sophisticated recreation clubs near the lake like The Celebrity Club, Aalankrita, The Orange Bowl and Leonia Holistic Destination.

The housing and human population in Shamirpet area is moderate and developing; thanks to the flourishing real estate industry. The urbanization is seemingly visible in and around the areas of outer ring road, which is closer to Shamirpet. All these areas come under GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) municipal wing.
