Priyadarshini Park and Priyadarshini Lake are close to Saroornagar Lake; covering an area of 5 acres. It can be mentioned as a famous attraction spot mainly because of the natural beauty of the park and the pleasant, soothing atmosphere due to the greenery in it. The park may not be a famous tourist spot, but it known to be a good hangout place for the people living nearby. It was inaugurated in 2006 and has been active.
People from various parts of the city are seen here during evening times and afternoons also (only during winter season). They are seen having pleasant walks in the cool breezes, enjoying the scenic nature of the lake. Children can also enjoy their time with the hangouts like A to B climber, Rocket Elephant, Climber, See Saw, Kinder garden, SS Slide, Merry Go Round, Jungle Jim and Swing etc. There are a good number of restaurants and food courts in Priyadarshini Park for the visitors to enjoy their meals as well as the park.
Other recreational play is the Giri Cricket Championship in which one would bat three overs and make a score. Whoever makes highest score among the people gathered for the play, will be awarded with surprise gifts.
With an entry fee of Rs 5 per head you can enjoy the beautiful lake side view through the Priya Darshini Park. It is open from 9 Am to 12 Pm in the morning and from 4 Pm to 8 Pm in the evening on weekdays. On weekend it’s open from 9 Am to 12 Pm in the morning and from 3 Pm to 9 Pm in the evening.
